Audion Packaging Machines introduces the Audion SpeedBags: bags on roll produced using an in-house designed converter that converts tubular film into bags on roll: SpeedBags. SpeedBags can be used for a broad range of applications, and also with other packaging machines than Audion (Speedpack) packaging machines. They offer new possibilities to a very large group of customers. With the SpeedBags, we aim to provide our customers with a relatively simple answer to their different and growing needs.
In other words: Audion offers its customers a simple, sustainable, and inexpensive packaging solution. In this article, we outline the main advantages of the Audion SpeedBags:
Bags on a roll: fast packaging
Audion SpeedBags are pre-formed bags on roll, available in various widths and lengths. The bags are pre-perforated, closed at the bottom with a seal, and open on one side at the top so they can be blown open by the packaging machine and easily filled by the operator. This simple technique enables our customers to pack their products faster, which is a very important advantage, especially in times of labour shortages.

Sustainability of bags on roll
At Audion Packaging Machines, sustainability is an essential part of our vision for packaging and packaging machines, and this also applies to SpeedBags. We see a growing need for packaging that is recyclable, and for polyethylene packaging produced from recycled material. Our vision on reducing waste in packaging processes continues to focus on packaging that is cut to size and sealed with the Speedpack. The SpeedBags are an addition to this and enable companies to benefit from relatively sustainable packaging with the following advantages:
- The production of Polyethylene packaging emits less CO2 than the production of paper packaging
- No trees are cut down for polyethylene packaging
- There are more and more possibilities to fully recycle polyethylene packaging
- Our SpeedBags are made in different sizes and from different compositions, including bags from 30% recycled material

Very simple packaging process
Packaging with SpeedBags requires little operator effort due to the simplicity of this packaging solution. Of course the operator’s actions will vary depending on the packaging machine he or she is working with and the products that need to be packaged, but in essence the SpeedBags process is very simple:
- The roll with SpeedBags is mounted on the packaging machine with the bottom seal facing downwards
- The bags are automatically unrolled and opened by using air
- The operator fills the open bag with the product
- The packaging is closed with a seal by the packaging machine
- The filled bag is separated from the roll along the pre-perforated line
In times like these, with many countries and sectors experiencing labour shortages, SpeedBags offer a simple and fast solution for the packaging of products, without the need for specialist knowledge or training.
Bags on roll suitable for different machines
SpeedBags have been developed to be used with not only the Speedpack packaging machines of Audion Packaging Machines, but also with packaging machines of other manufacturers. The SpeedBags can be used in combination with packaging machines of:
- Clamco Packaging
- Automated Packaging Systems
- Sharp Packaging
The SpeedBags bags on roll are not only suitable for machines of other brands, but can also be used with different types of packaging machines. The bags can be used in fully manual packaging machines but also in partially or fully automated packaging machines. We offer the bags in a wide range of sizes, film thicknesses, and specific models.

Efficiency through affordable automation
We see a growing need across all sectors worldwide to meet the high demand, while struggling with a huge labour shortage. We believe that using SpeedBags is part of the solution. It may well be the easiest, most affordable way to take the first step in (partly) automating the packaging process. In many cases, SpeedBags can be used in combination with packaging machines that our customers already use, which makes the switch to SpeedBags easy. The cost-efficient Tabletop Speedpack, for example, can be used in combination with SpeedBags. This is an ideal first step in automation, which requires a very small investment but can considerably speed up the work of the operator.
Fast supply of bags on roll
Audion SpeedBags are available from stock in many different sizes and compositions, which allows us to supply our customers very quickly. On request, for orders of 300 kg or more, we can also produce SpeedBags in non-standard sizes and film thicknesses. We realise that speed is an essential factor for our customers, which is why our converter is currently operating 24/7. We expect to expand the production capacity in the near future, so that we can supply larger quantities and more variants of SpeedBags from stock.
